Travellers with specific needs

The Australian Government recognises that while some travellers may have specific needs, all travellers are required to undergo security screening. Each individual’s needs are considered during the screening process. For example, travellers that have a metallic joint implant or carry medical and disability devices and aids may undergo alternative screening processes.

Security screening officers are trained to ensure everyone is treated with dignity and respect when going through security screening at the airport. If you require assistance, inform the security screening officer before you begin the screening process.

If you have feedback about your experience, contact the relevant airport.
